My Gee's were originally from Apethorn and Pinfold, which was coal mining country. Apethorn is currently part of the area where the Romiley Golf Club exists today. My grandmother, Annie Gee, was born in Romiley in 1890. Her family also dwelled in Werneth, Bredbury, Gee Cross, Marple/Mellor, Lancaster, and other local villages nearby Hyde, in Cheshire. The area was also part of Derbyshire as borders changed. The Gee's were also merchants, farmers and owned shipyards.
